Body Scan Success: Jack's Journey from Injury to Strength

When this former footy player stepped onto the InBody scanner, it marked a pivotal moment in his fitness journey, providing him with the personalised data needed to resume training after a devastating injury.

Meet Jack, a member of the Vermont Football Club until an ankle injury ended his career at 19. Jack "struggled to maintain his fitness and interest in fitness and in his health" after no longer competing at a high level.

In 2021, as Jack's ankle improved, he decided to start training again, only to find "his fitness was not what it used to be. His training was on and off at best. His motivation was very low!"

In June 2023, Jack took his first InBody body scan, starting at 17.5% body fat and 41.5 kg muscle mass. Jack said, "Setting the baseline was very motivational for me as I saw measurable results - a bit more motivational because I would know exactly what I had achieved, there was no hiding."

Jack set a goal to train consistently and "eat a little better." Five months later, a rescan showed Jack dropped to 10.1% body fat while gaining 2 kg of muscle mass. "I knew I lost weight, but I had no idea if I had gained much muscle in the process amongst the weight loss," Jack said.

The scanner also revealed imbalances for Jack to improve. As he put it: "The body scanner was great, once I took the first scan, I saw it as a challenge to try to improve on my new measurable baselines."

Scans are available to all Aqualink members, and most people are surprised to find its not just about weight loss, or weight gain. The body scan provides much more than that from fluid retention, protein synthesis, to visceral fat, and any imbalances in the body.

It’s a great tool, for all to take advantage of, so if you are an Aqualink members and haven’t booked a scan yet, get on the website and book online, you will be glad you did!
